• First fruits September 26 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, … groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption … the redemption of our body. Romans 8:23 Listen to today's Devotional

First fruits are the preview of an entire crop. For example, if you grow corn and the first ears harvested are delicious, then you know you have an outstanding crop of corn. The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives is the first fruits, the foretaste, of all that we will someday become. Until then, our present existence is similar to the pains of labor before birth.

Do parents offer to show pictures of the labor and delivery process? Of course not. But they are quick to show pictures of their beautiful new baby. So as we groan now, having these first fruits of the Spirit, we’re looking forward to seeing the picture of our resurrected life with Christ in glory. Are the first fruits of God’s Spirit evident in your life? https://mailchi.mp/4db6a167ae41/the-truest-freedom-you-can-ever-experience-453085?e=9cbe669f39

  • His Image September 15 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son… Romans 8:29

Alexander Hamilton, among America’s founders, was born on a Caribbean island, illegitimate and in poverty. In youth, he became a protégé and top aide to George Washington, who shaped him into greatness, sometimes midst the anguish and dangers of the Revolutionary War.

The grand purpose toward which God is shaping His covenant child is Christlikeness. We are born outside the Kingdom of God, in spiritual destitution, but God promises to form us into the very image and character of the spotless Son of God. His promise is that everything that happens to His child is aimed at that great purpose. https://mailchi.mp/5926b988dbe0/his-image-453005?e=9cbe669f39

  • His Purpose September 14 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

A comedian said if he could ask Egypt’s ancient Sphinx one question it would be, “Do we live on a friendly planet?” Put that query to a pauper sheltered in a shanty and a billionaire living in a penthouse and, surprisingly, the answer might be the same: “No, it’s mean, cruel, happenstance, dog-eat dog!”

Pose the question to a person living in the promise of God’s purpose, and even the pauper will tell you that tears and blood are components of joy and victory. They know their lives in this world are woven of threads bright and grim, and they live in the joyful expectancy that the final garment will be lovely and radiant. https://mailchi.mp/dec0062739ce/the-truest-freedom-you-can-ever-experience-453001?e=9cbe669f39

  • Don’t be afraid September 10 And He who searches the heart knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints. Romans 8:27 Listen to today's Devotional

Did you realize that God is searching your heart right now? You might be thinking, “I’m not sure I want God to search my heart. He may not like what He finds there.” But God’s searching is not to condemn us, but to work out the very best in our lives for His glory and for our joy.

He’s constantly searching our hearts to bless us, and to make a difference in our lives. So don’t be afraid. Ask God to search your heart and trust Him to deal lovingly and justly with what He finds. https://mailchi.mp/8ca3840a94e8/the-truest-freedom-you-can-ever-experience-452985?e=9cbe669f39

  • Relentless Love
August 31 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

A pilot is shot down, and lands his fighter jet in the ocean. He is knocked out. The airplane is sinking as a carrier-based helicopter approaches. The rescue team leaps into the sea, and slips a harness around the unconscious pilot. He is lifted into the safety of the helicopter. Though he is out cold and cannot hold onto the harness, the harness holds onto him. God’s love is so relentless that when we are battered by foes seen and unseen, and have difficulty holding on to Him, He grips us tenaciously.

The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He doesn’t say, ‘I’m going to join you on the second mile and walk with you.’ He joins us from the very first step we take for Him. He walks with us on that first mile - and every step of the way after that. https://mailchi.mp/b90ea5d6839a/the-truest-freedom-you-can-ever-experience-452913?e=9cbe669f39

  • 95 Years Since The Assassination Of Dr. DeHaan By The Zionists
On July 2, 2019, a group of Jews went to visit the gravesite of Professor Yaakov Yisroel DeHaan, the 95th anniversary of his murder at the hands of the Zionists.

DeHaan was an important political activist who worked alongside Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld in the 1920’s to establish the Eidah Chareidis, the anti-Zionist Jewish community of the Holy Land, as an independent community not represented by the Zionists.

His many political connections, his mastery of diplomacy and his work with Arab leaders to find a haven for Jews outside of the context of Zionism posed a threat to the Zionists, and in 1924 they assassinated him.

The inscription on his gravestone reads: “Here lies the exceptional scholar and professor, Dr. Yaakov Yisroel ben Yitzchak Halevi DeHaan, who gave up a promising career and placed his life in danger to fight like a lion and a warrior, fearlessly advocating with all his heart and soul for the establishment of the Orthodox Jewish community here in Jerusalem.

He was murdered by wicked men in the prime of his youth on Monday night, 29 Sivan 5684 (June 30, 1924). He came to the Holy Land in 1919 and became an ally of G-d-fearing leaders. Through his advice and wisdom he assisted them and accomplished great things. He supported numerous charitable organizations in the Holy Land.”

Rabbi Leibel Deutsch, a heroic anti-Zionist activist from Jerusalem, led the visit and gave a short speech in honor of Dr. DeHaan:

It is written regarding Rabbi Akiva, who was killed by the Romans for teaching Torah, Only G-d knows how great his reward in the World to Come is.

R’ Yaakov Yisroel knew that his work would cost him his life
and he sacrificed his life in order to break down Zionism, the movement that wanted to erase the existence of the Jewish people.

Not only did he allow himself to be killed rather than be a Zionist, he also fought against the whole idolatry of Zionism, at the risk of his life and he fought to raise the honor of the Jewish people.

Certainly his soul now rests in a high place, a place that no eye but G-d can see. Not even the prophets had the privilege to see the eternal reward of those who are murdered for the sanctification of G-d’s name.

May G-d help that his merit should protect us, especially here, where we are suffering for more than 70 years under this heretical government, which is constantly trying to uproot the Torah, constantly fighting against G-d. We can’t see how we will ever be free of them.

We need much Heavenly mercy, to remain with our faith, we and our children.

May G-d help, in the merit of this holy martyr R’ Yaakov Yisroel ben Yitzchok Isaac Halevi, may he pray for us before G-d’s throne, that the complete redemption should come soon, the messiah should already come and we should be able to continue with the true Jewish faith and not be influenced by the nationalism of Zionism and the whole heresy associated with it.

We should hold on tight to our faith, in the merit of this holy martyr.

In conclusion, the participants chanted parts of the payers of the Jewish High Holidays:

Our Father, our King, avenge before our eyes the spilled blood of Your servants!
Our Father, our King, act for the sake of those killed because of Your holy name!
Our Father, our King, act for the sake of those slaughtered because of Your oneness!
Our Father, our King, act for the sake of those who walk through fire and water for the sanctification of Your name!

  • Resurrection Power August 25 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

A World War 2 cartoon portrayed a rifle-bearing soldier approached by a tank. In one panel, the GI seemed a tiny, out-gunned insect compared to the metallic monster. But in an adjoining panel, the artist showed the soldier now armed with a bazooka. The tank still approaches, but now the GI is a giant and the tank is toy-sized.

When the resurrection power of Jesus Christ operates in our lives we are more than adequate for whatever approaches us. We overwhelmingly conquer through Him Who empowers us, equips us and enables us. https://mailchi.mp/3349cbdf482e/the-truest-freedom-you-can-ever-experience-452865?e=9cbe669f39
